Cheaply Made - Breaks Easily Jul 13, 2005 "Jack" doesn't pop up after only a few weeks of owning it. Don't waste your money.

Still havin' fun! Dec 05, 2004 I bought this toy USED for my son when he was one year old; it was in perfect working condition. He loved the surprise of the clown popping out of the box! He also peeked at himself in the mirror, "beeped" the horn, and spun the clicking star. The handle made it easy for him to pick up and bring to us when he wanted to see the clown pop out. Now, he is two, and it is still a big hit because he is finally able to operate the entire toy by himself. It has been over a year since we bought it (second hand!), and it is still in perfect working condition. I would recommend this to any mom who is looking for a first jack in the box for her baby or toddler--the most ideal time to teach cause and effect.

Poor mechanics Aug 29, 2004 We have owned this Jack in the box for about a month and a half. The music has already stopped working and we didn't even play with it on a daily basis, much less on a weekly basis. I wouldn't recommend this toy.
Wouldn't buy this toy. Jun 08, 2004 The music stopped playing the same day we got it in the mail. Would have been very cute if it wasn't so cheaply made. Very disappointed.

Inconsistent manufacturing May 06, 2004 Our first purchase of this toy resulted in an exchange for another one the same day--it stopped working (playing music) after a few times of using it! Our second one however continues to work after several weeks. As another reviewer has mentioned, this toy plays an odd song for a jack-in-the-box, but still holds the attention of my 12 mo old. Although he is not yet able to effectively turn the knob yet, he still enjoys watching the head pop when we play with it, and he likes to play with the other sections of the toy.
